End of Summer Party

Last year the End of Summer Party was held in the middle of August.  The YSA council picked a latter date this year, August 30th, only to discover (at the last moment) that it coincided with another Hungarian wide activity (not on the Stake Calendar).  So the date was changed to September 13.

The theme was Hawaiian.  Let the fun begin….

Evi and Istvi had left-over decorations from their wedding – so they donated them to the YSA.  Perfect for our use…

Art classes, sewing classes are cancelled the day before parties, so we have time to decorate…

Food always makes a great party: "Hawaiian meatballs" was the main dish.

There were fun games planned and it got nearly everyone involved…  They were divided up into groups and they had to make up a skit and present it to each other…

Once Timi found that out, she had everyone pair up and they learned that!

The night ended with karaoke – a favorite for the kids…

IMG_3703This was another all-nighter.  Many of the kids left after the main party was over at 1 AM or after clean-up.  The rest were from out-lying towns and the trains to their towns do not run at night.  The Miskolc group left at 7 AM.  These all-nighters are hard for us!  But they all had good clean fun – and got to meet some new people.  We had about 7 non-members attend!!!

  1. Looking at your pictures we were able to see our son, Elder Christensen. We love seeing him in random pictures. He has loved Hungary and will be sad to leave. His release date is Dec. 12. If you see him please tell him he looks great and we are so proud of him. Thank you for your service and sacrifice of being away from loved ones.
